Robert P. Tinnin, Jr.

Robert Tinnin

Mr. Tinnin is recognized by the New Mexico Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in labor and employment law. He has expertise in:

  • National Labor Relations Board representation election and unfair labor practice proceedings
  • State and federal employment discrimination charges
  • Wage and hour matters
  • Collective bargaining
  • Grievance arbitration
  • State and federal court litigation proceedings
  • Equal employment opportunity and contract and tort litigation arising from employee-employer relationships

Mr. Tinnin attended Brown University and received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Mexico. He received his law degree from Indiana University, with distinction, where he served as Note Editor for the Indiana Law Review.

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Tinnin was a law clerk to the Honorable Oliver Seth of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He regularly conducts training programs for employers on workplace issues and participates in continuing legal education programs and seminars on subjects related to his areas of expertise.

He is a contributing editor for The Developing Labor Law, co-editor of the New Mexico Employment Law Letter, and was the editor-in-chief of Employment Law Desk Book for New Mexico Employers. He serves as a member of the Planning Committee for the Annual Multi-State Labor Law Seminar sponsored by Tulane University, and is a member of the Editorial Board Employment Practices Self-Audit Workbook.

Mr. Tinnin has been active in professional activities, having served as President of the State Bar of New Mexico and the New Mexico Bar Foundation. Mr. Tinnin is a member of the State Bar of New Mexico and the American Bar Association. He serves on various committees of the Labor and Employment and Litigation Sections of the ABA. He is a member of the American Academy of Hospital Attorneys and is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He is recognized as a Southwest Super Lawyer and has been selected for listing in every edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the Labor and Employment Law Category.

Stanley K. Kotovsky, Jr.

Stanley Kotovsky

Mr. Kotovsky received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1972 from New Mexico State University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of New Mexico. He is a member of the State Bar of New Mexico, United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Mr. Kotovsky has lectured at seminars on both employment and insurance related issues. He has participated in over one hundred jury trials and has represented clients in over fifty matters before federal and state appellate courts. He has represented clients in courts throughout the southwest including Arizona, Texas, and Colorado.

Mr. Kotovsky was an Assistant United States Attorney for eleven years in which he presented the United States in both criminal and civil matters. Since leaving the United States Attorney's Office, he has represented primarily corporate and public entities.

Mr. Kotovsy has represented both private and public entities in litigation arising out of employment, personal injury, property damages, and commercial transactions. He has represented insurance companies in litigation concerning coverage under policies of insurance and provided advice and opinions as to potential liability, damage, and coverage issues. He has also defended numerous lawsuits brought against the insureds.

Mr. Kotovsky has extensive experience in state and federal court in employment litigation. His practice in this area includes:

Glenn A. Beard

Glenn A. Beard

Mr. Beard is an associate with Tinnin Law Firm, P.C. in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has extensive experience representing and counseling employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. His litigation practice has included the defense of discrimination, retaliation and harassment claims under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA and ERISA Section 510, wage and hour litigation including collective actions under FLSA, unfair labor practice and representation proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, labor arbitrations, proceedings for injunctive relief to enforce and challenge restrictive covenants, appeals to federal and state appellate courts, and litigation of employment-related state law claims such as defamation, tortuous interference and whistleblower claims.

Mr. Beard received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College, B.A., cum laude. He received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, J.D., cum laude. in 1991. He has experience in multiple jurisdictions, including New Mexico, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Before joining Tinnin Law Firm, P.C., he practiced in the labor and employment section of a major Philadelphia law firm for eight years and with a major Albuquerque law firm for two years.

Mr. Beard is a member of the American Bar Association, Labor and Employment Law Section, the State Bar of New Mexico, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in New Mexico, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, the U.S. District Courts for Districts of New Mexico, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as for the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Tenth and Fifth Judicial Circuits.
